Mama's Kitchen believes that every person is entitled to the basic necessity of life - nutritious food. As a volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization, they deliver three nutritional meals a day, seven days a week at no charge to men, women and children living with AIDS or cancer. Additionally, Mama's Kitchen provides pantry services (Mama's Pantry) to people affected by AIDS.
Through these services, they are able to provide food, compassion and hope to over 1,500 people annually living throughout San Diego County.
The Matthew Shepard Foundation was founded by Dennis and Judy Shepard in memory of their 21-year old son, Matthew, who was murdered in an anti-gay hate crime in Wyoming in October 1998.
The Foundations mission is to support diversity programs in education and to help youth organizations establish environments where young people can feel safe and be themselves
Its goal is to educate and enlighten others on the
importance of diversity, understanding, compassion,
acceptance and respect. Everyone must participate
in developing solutions to problems that are rooted
in ignorance and hatred.
